Job Summary:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for traveling to correctional facilities
and conducting service and maintenance work. This work includes preventive
maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing and installing locks, locking devices,
and door control panels.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES EXTENSIVE TRAVEL. TRIPS WILL RANGE FROM 1-2 DAYS
UP TO TWO WEEKS OR MORE. WILLO WILL PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION, TOOLS
AND LODGING.
Responsibilities:
- Traveling to correctional facilities to assess electrical and mechanical
problems - Troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical locks, sliding door devices,
and door control panels - Performing preventive maintenance for the same systems
- Tracking and logging work performed and associated costs
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with electrical systems and electromechanical
devices - Proven troubleshooting skills
- Ability to trace current to locate a problem
- Ability to electrically check for defective motor, switch or other components
- Ability to locate defective components on a printed circuit (PC) board
- Experience in reading electrical schematics (CCTV and intercom a plus)
- Experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings
- Experience in welding
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to quickly develop relationships and gain trust
- Good verbal communication skills are a must
- Ability to project professionalism as a representative of the company
- High ethical standards (trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality)
- Ability to travel up to 50 weeks per year (usually home on weekends)
- Must pass security clearance (no felonies) and drug screen
Experience:
- Programmable logic controllers: 2 years (Preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
