Our detention equipment fabrication capabilities include bar grating (traditional jail bars). We typically fabricate bar grating as doors, partitions, and grills inside air conditioning units. The bar grating has 7/8" diameter rib bars and 3/8" x 2 ¼" flat bars. Rib bars are notched at a 12" spacing and then assembled with the flat bars to provide a mechanical lock at the intersection without welds. The corners and perimeter joints are welded.
Our bar grating is offered in three levels of security:
- Mild Steel – No Heat Treating
This option is used where an inmate has access and is in clear view all of the time.
- Semi-TR (Tool Resisting) – 7/8" Rib Bars are Heat Treated
This option is used where an inmate has access and may not be in view for up to 2 hours at a time.
- Full-TR – Both 7/8" Rib Bars and 3/8" x 2 ¼" Flat Bars are Heat Treated
This option is used where an inmate has access and may not be in view up to 8 hours at a time.
